Here I stand at Heaven's gate
Wondering what will be my fate
For but a few minutes ago
I simply did not know
That I would be standing here
With a spirit of fear
For who am I to say
Whether I stay
Or enter or leave
But there is nothing to grieve
For quite a long time has gone
Since I came upon
The glory of God's grace
And left no trace
Of my old life
And displaced my strife
For I have been washed by the blood
Of Jesus and left no stain of mud
And now God says unto me
That there is no need to flee
And turned to his book
And said, let's take a look
To see if you came
And added your name
And he found it there
And then I made a stare
Of utter joy
For I knew it not a ploy
Then God said unto me
With great glee
Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.
